I began organizing Chinsegut Wildlife Day with Gina Long back in October 2019. It has been a long process, hundreds of volunteer hours along with digging in my new camera funds. Besides all that seeing the final results of the website, marketing materials and activities I came up with have taught me something about myself. That I can “make things happen”. Something my Dad always advised me of.
The entire event is for people to get outdoors, to become an adventurer and to also become aware of Florida’s awesome eco-systems and the wildlife that need them. To learn more about conservation and maybe, just maybe spark an interest in the younger generations to take a look at a possible career within one of many of these agencies that will be present.
I have learned so much from everyone that I have met throughout my freelance work with Hernando Sun and volunteering with FWC and SeaGrant.
I am determined to continue my goal of completing the Florida Master Naturalist Program this year, while actively seeking employment where I can put my education and talent (photography and creative design) to good use.
Have a great weekend!
